That's right, the time has finally come. Comic submissions for the anthology Gothology Book III: Theatre of Tragedy are due today. We will be spending the next day or two going over the comics we have, and will then be sending releases and any corrections out to artists who have made it into the book.

For artists who don't make it into the book, we will try our best to contact you as well, but we can't make any promises.  We've been busy with a lot of "real life" things recently, so we might not have the time to contact everyone. Just know, though, we greatly appreciate everybody's efforts and would sincerely like to express our gratitude for everyone who submitted works, expressed interest, and helped us get this book done. Really, I don't think we would have finished this book without all the help we have gotten this time around.

There is no set release as of the moment, but it probably still a couple of months off. We have something special planned this time around which will delay printing for a little while. It will be well worth it, though, if all goes to plan. I would love to elaborate more on this, but for the moment,  just hold on tight for a little longer.. an announcement on this will be coming within the next month or two.

==============================================

Today we bring both good news and bad news. The bad news is we are about 70 pages short of a completed book and a release of Theatre of Tragedy is still a ways off. The good news however is we are placing a second deadline, so if you missed our original deadline, you still have a chance to get your comic/art in. The new deadline will be the 15th of July. You may also recognize that date as sir Ian Curtis' birthday.

Our prediction of Tragedy coming on 4/20/11 may have been off, but if Harold Camping has taught us anything, it's that we can just pick another date, and we feel very good about 7/15/11.

A reminder of our submission guidelines:

Requirements:
3+ page comic relating to the theme (must be b/w or grayscale/toned)
1 photo/drawing for artist bio
Contact Info (e-mail, website)/A paragraph or two about yourself for artist bio

Page Sizing:
6.625 x 10.25 inches (168 x 260 mm)
With bleed, 7 x 10.5 (178 x 267 mm)
For safety, text should be inside 6 x 9 inches (152 x 229 mm)
Text that is in the bleed, will most likely get cut off
Pages must be at least 300dpi

Illustrations:
We are taking Illustrations, as well. Same size requirements, and should have contact information sent in with them. Inside front and inside back illustrations can be in color. We can only use a few illustrations for each book (though, we will hold ones we like for future books).

Email submissions to gothology(at)dapshow(dot)com!

***UPDATE - 5/20/2011: For the time being, our website can only be reached @ books.dapshow.com/gothology***

To those who have sent in comics and illustrations for the third volume of Gothology: Thank you. The submissions we have been receiving are quite nice and this book is shaping up to be our best yet. We should have had some contact with everyone who has submitted by now. If we haven't replied to you to let you know we have it, contact us to see if we have gotten it.

We are currently reviewing submissions, and within the next two weeks well send out emails out to each contributor with any changes needed (if any), and a release form if their contributions are approved.

To those who HAVEN'T sent in anything and were working on submissions or wanted to, we still have plenty of space to fill -- so we'll still be taking submissions until the latter part of May -- this especially goes out to those who have been given some extra time to already. In case you need a refresher, here's a link to the requirements for Theatre of Tragedy.

The days have died off one by one, in what seems like no time at all, and the due date for Theatre of Tragedy is now upon us (April 20th). So, make those finishing touches and send in your comics in today before midnight - send them to gothology@dapshow.com.

Be sure to send in everything that is required. If you happen to have forgotten what the requirements are, check the Theatre of Tragedy website.

Also, if you are almost done, but just won't be able to finish today, drop us an email and let us know about it. We could possibly give you some more time based on how much you have left or how well we know you. If we've already told you that you could have extra time, don't worry about this.

We'll be spending the next week going through the submissions, and will try to reply to everyone letting them know we received their work.

And, always remember, fangs out!
